Questions, answered
Do I need desk phones?
No. Every plan includes a full softphone that runs in the browser over WebRTC. If you already own SIP desk phones, they can register to the same extensions and ring alongside the browser.
Can I bring my own carrier or SIP trunk?
Mentor speaks standard SIP, so carrier trunks connect at the session border controller and numbers route to users, ring groups, IVRs or queues. Production carrier onboarding with fraud controls is rolling out with our v1 release.
How does annual billing work?
Annual plans are billed once a year at the discounted per-user price — about 20% less than paying monthly. You can add seats at any time; they are prorated to your renewal date.
Can we self-host Mentor?
Yes. Every server ships as a container and the platform runs on Ubuntu with Docker Compose. Self-hosted deployments are part of the Enterprise plan, including upgrade guidance and support.
Are calls and meetings encrypted?
Browser calls and meetings use DTLS-SRTP for media and secure WebSockets for signaling. End-to-end encrypted meetings (SFrame) are on the roadmap.
Is there an API?
Everything in the app is available over a REST API described by OpenAPI 3.1, with organization API keys and signed Standard Webhooks for call, queue, meeting and chat events.
